Educational Programme: » The White Stork
in Čigoć «
Description of the Programme:
Arrival at the Info Centre, Čigoć no. 26;
a short lecture about storks; stork-spotting with binoculars; walk
around the village and counting the nests; looking round the yards
led by an educational expert; Back to the playroom of the Educational
Centre; filling in worksheets; looking round traditional carpenter’s
shop and souvenir stand.
On account of the ages of the visitors, there are special worksheets
for younger and for older schoolchildren, and also for adults.
For pre-school children, there is a specially adapted programme.
Usually this programme is expanded with a visit to one of the ethnographic
collections, and a trip to the floodwater retention zone of Lonjsko
Polje (around Čigoć or Mužilovčica. In the plain, the Expert Guide
will acquaint the visitors with some of the richness of the flora
and fauna of the Nature Park, and facilitate observation and photographing
of the pastures with their herds of horses, cattle and pigs.
This programme is available from April 1 to August 10, during the
time the storks stay in Lonjsko Polje, but if the visitors so wish,
it can be arranged even after the storks have departed for warmer
climes.
The »Krapje – Architectural
Heritage Village«
Educational Programme
Description of the Programme:
Arrival at the Info Centre, Krapje no.
1; a short lecture about the village in which the traditional architecture
created in the 18th and 19th centuries is exceptionally well preserved;
the houses are made of famed Posavina oak. Walk round the village,
photographing, looking round houses and yards, filling in worksheets;
assembling models of the Posavina house in the playroom and tour
of the gallery premises and the souvenir stand.
At the wish of the visitors, it is possible to arrange a visit
to St Anthony’s Church in Krapje.
Usually this educational programme is expanded by a visit to one
of the ethnological collections and a trip to the flood retention
area of Lonjsko Polje at the village of Mužilovčica.
A visit to the Bird Sanctuary at Krapje đol can also be arranged.
This programme is available throughout almost the whole of the
year, and is intended for all age groups.

For all specialist natural science groups of visitors (secondary
schools, universities, ecologists and other associations and
clubs) it is possible on request to organise special educational
programmes such as:
