The city of Sisak
Long urban habitation and an excellent
location at the confluence of the three rivers the Sava, Kupa and
Odra have made Sisak a very important city in the history of the
Croats. The triangular fortress of the old burg of the 16th century
is a special attraction for every visitor. The fort is known for
the important victory of the Croats over the Turks in 1593, the
first major defeat inflicted on the hitherto invincible Ottoman
army in Europe. The Baroque palace (Mali Kaptol) and Classicist
palace (Veliki Kaptol), the Old Bridge made of brick over the Kupa
and the City Museum are the most frequently visited facilities
in the town. You can get all kinds of information about the city

Topusko Spa
Topusko, first mentioned as Topusko Spa
in 1192, is distinctive for its healthcare tourism, the development
of which is based on the hyperthermal springs (68-72°C) and
the fresh forest air. The Petrova Gora and Toplica hotels make
up a single complex, and provide accommodation featuring 360 beds
and 4 suites. The open-air baths complex consists of five open-air
pools with water of various temperatures (from 26-34°C). The
spa successfully uses physical therapy to treat joint and muscle
conditions, rheumatism, exudates, chronic skin problems, the consequences
of injuries to the bones and muscles and nervous ailments.

The Moslavina Wine Road
Southern Moslavina is one of the most interesting
tourist regions in central Croatia. The diverse countryside has
something appealing to offer every visitor. Lovers of old things
ought not to miss the prehistoric sites and still preserved medieval
burgs of Marić-gradina, Garić-grad and Jelen-grad. Kutina’s Moslavina
Museum shows objects of the area; it is located in the 18th century
Erdödy Palace.
Also well worth visiting are the exceptional ecclesiastical monuments,
particularly the artistically valuable Baroque Church of St Mary
of the Snows in Kutina. It is particularly notable for its stucco
decoration to the walls and ceilings, the frescos and other valuable
items. The Baroque is also featured in the Church of St Michael
in Ludina and St Anne in Osekovo. Moslavina is the home of the
grape varieties called Moslavac, Ranina and – most in demand –
Škrlet. In the many wine cellars, the hospitable winemakers, especially
those alongside the Moslavina Wine Road, between Popovača and Kutina,
will offer you wine and local fare snacks. These hills offer for
your enjoyment not only fine wine, but also the beautiful views
provided by this region, embraced by Lonjsko Polje and the vine-clad
heights.
