Krapje – Village of the Architectural Heritage

The historical building area of Krapje has managed to preserve the original pattern and a large number of buildings of the traditional wooden architecture in the very picturesque setting of the typical linear spatial organisation of the village.  Not only can the traditional architecture of a rural settlement be seen but there are also historic public buildings, such as the church, the vicarage, the fire station, a tavern, the commune building, a mill and a cemetery. For these values, Krapje is of national importance and it is the only village in Croatia to have the status of Village of the Architectural Heritage. Since 1995 it has observed European Heritage Day.
